CZET personal blog of artist Carin Tillman.
may have posted before… but rediscovered.

competition and fighting

better and refining

work

no play

no thought

no i.

no me or destiny.

just us and best better and must; money and time, death or exhaustion.

how does one stop the cycle of “productivity?”

working off asses

for dust and ashes.

" My first memories are of such uncharted and undeciphered spaces, of a white light which was the sky over Iran, a brilliant light illuminating particles of dust.”

" Rarely do I question the mystery of it all. We are atoms connected to create big, awkward, intelligent animals, animals complex in construction, equipped with minds, hearts, and the like. Spinning secretly around us is an intricate system of interconnected physical laws, completely dependent upon one another for effectiveness. And we are in the middle of it; actors on Shakespeare’s stage, madmen in Nietzsche’s streets, accidents in Sagan’s universe, children in God’s creation. "

january.

it’s at least the four-hundredth time i’ve seen this film, but this time i have chess pie and i’m thinking of a different man.  i see what jonsi’s face looks like through a fork.  and i think, “i wonder if they know they’ve been with me so long.”  and i just got home from an artist lecture where the artist wore his ego harder than the leather pants he had on and i think, “okay, there is still a protagonist in the story of art.”  and i think, “i wish you’d kiss my neck the way you did in texas.”

anti-entropy

but without fine lines

black. white. gray

shutters of hope

fought for, never won

but always there

endoscopes and silk lines

an end to all but a raison d’etre

lighter, lighter

lighter

choose joy, my love.

" There is no more wonderful image in nature of the glory of God than we find in the starry heavens. Telescopes have long discovered the wonders of God’s universe. By means of photography, new wonders of that glory have been revealed. A photographic plate fixed below the telescope will reveal millions of stars which otherwise could never have been seen by the eye. Man must step to one side and allow the glory of the heavens to reveal itself. The stars, at first wholly invisible, will leave their images on the plate.
What a lesson for the soul that longs to see the glory of God in His Word. Let your heart be as a photographic plate that waits for God’s glory to be revealed. The plate must be prepared and clean; let your heart be prepared and purified by God’s Spirit. …let your heart take time in silent waiting upon God and He will reveal His glory… "
